Aroha Koromiko

Brand: Aroha Textiles
Collection: Taura Here Manama
Name: Koromiko
Blend: 100% cotton
Thickness: 360 g/m2
Wrappee: 16,5 kg/ 2,5 years old
Carries tried: Double Hammock (tied in front, tied at shoulder and with a candy cane chest belt), FWCC and simple ruck.

Taura Here Manawa means "The cord that binds me to your heart", and that alone says a lot to me. The reason we do babywearing, and for all the thing we do in our everyday living- THIS is what its all about. To connect and to be close to our children, to share love and joy - all the way from the first sign of pregnancy, and until they grow up to be responsible and deeply loved grown ups.

Koromiko is beautiful. It has a deep purple color, matched with rich black. One side is purple with black pattern, and the other side is black with purple pattern. This one is my favorite side.
The pattern is repeating it self, and its an pattern easy to love.

We received Koromiko a while ago, and the wrap arrived in loom state. After a wash and iron, it became more fluffy and airy. Still, I felt it was a bit stiff and had some more potensial with breaking in.
We sent it off for testing with 5 other mamas, and by the time it came back it had soften up a lot more. It was now much more easy to wrap with, and much more soft.

I would say this wrap is great for bigger babies and toddlers. Its thick and dense woven. It has a tiny bit of stretch and bounce, but not too much, so its great for those heavy and energetic monkey´s some of us know way too well. ;)

This wrap does not sag. It has the perfect amount of grip, and will stay in place the whole time you have your baby in it.
The only "negative" thing I can find is that this wrap demands a good wrapping job.
I am sometimes a sloppy wrapper, because I want things done quick so my toddler don´t loose his patient. This wrap is not very forgiving on sloppy wrapping-skills, but on the other hand this wrap is one of the easiest wraps to "re-do" your wrapping with.
Because of it´s thickness and amount of grip it will stay in place while you do whatever you need to do to fix your sloppy job, and you can just keep walking without even having to put your baby down. That is a big plus, because the worst nightmare of a energetic-toddler mom, is to put him down on his own feets, and then fetch him again with 4,6 meters of textile flying around you.

This is a wrap for all toddler-moms, and specially those who like dense and thick wraps, that will hug around you and your kid. Because of the amount of stretch and bounce, this wrap is very comfortable on your shoulders. Even when my boy is leaning to look closer, or dancing of joy on the back, its still no problems for my shoulders.

The wrap is of the wider side, and that is also perfect to make a good seat, and still cover the shoulders of your child. And what I experience with this wrap, is that a wide wrap like this, also give bigger pleats on your shoulder, that give an extra cloudy feeling.
Also, as you see, Koromiko will hold with only knot, and it will not be too big or overwhelming.

On these pictures we used Koromiko in a simple ruck for one hour. It was no problem at all.
We enjoyed a christmas-market, and we also enjoyed some food from a food-truck.

I was so happy that this wrap was an easy care- wrap, because I didn't even have to take my son down for eating. He actually ate his quesadilla with sour cream on my back, and I know that this wrap does not have a problem with being used for kids and all the mess that can come with it. Thats actually one reason in it self for everyone to have one easy-care wrap at all times.

Thank you Aroha Textiles, for letting us have the pleasure of testing this beautiful wrap here in Norway.

Harmaslings Orion Nebula

Brand: Harmaslings
Collection: The Night Sky
Name: Orion Nebula
Blend: Warp: 100% mercerized cotton, Weft: 20% milk protein yarn + 80% cotton.
Weave: Plain Weave
Thickness: 290 gsm
Wrappee: 17 kg/ 2 years old.
Carries tried: Double Hammock (tied in front, tied at shoulder and with a candy cane chest belt), FWCC and simple ruck.

This handwoven beauty is a real eye-catcher.
It is so beautiful, and it holds a beautiful combination of purple and pink, with a lovely shine that is a bit hard to capture on pictures.

So, my toddler is now a big boy. He have already turned 17 kgs, and is 2 years old. I dont know his exact height, but he is already using sz 104/3-4 years.
When this beauty arrived, we had just started daycare, so the wrap was used a lot for the walk to daycare and back.

I was surprised about how thin and soft the wrap feels in hand, but how study and cushy it feels on my shoulders.
I did try it in single layer carry, but I need to be honest and say that most wraps does not feel comfortable in single layer for a longer period anymore, and the same goes with this wrap.
But in multiple layers its perfect!

Orion Nebula holds a great amount of cush and feels quite moldable.
The wrap holds the perfect amount of stretch to hold a very energetic little boy, jumping and singing on my back.
When you have a baby in this size, too much stretch will give digging pleats on your shoulders, as well as sagging, but this wrap did not do any of this!

This is the perfect wrap from squish to toddlerhood.
It can be machine washed on 30 degrees, and it dries up fast. For me that is a criterion when wrapping a newborn/baby. That way you don´t need to worry about the burps or the diapers.
It´s soft enough for a baby, and strong enough in multilayers for a toddler. Even a heavy one like mine.

The wrap is a bit wide, with its 75 cm width, but thats perfect for my taste.
I have never really managed wrapping with narrow wraps. I prefer them wide, so I will have enough fabric to make a good seat, and also to cover him all the way to his neck, if he wants to have his arms inside the wrap.
I have not tried this one with a squish, so I can't say anything about the width for smaller babies. But I can say that I also had the same preferences when Lucas was a smaller baby.

This is the first time I try a wrap with milk-protein fibers. I was very curious about this, and was not sure what to expect.
What I experienced with this blend is that the milk-protein fibers make the wraps feel even softer then  all all-cotton wraps I have tried before.
Its smooth, but still not too slippery. The mix of these qualities makes the wrap perfect for any new beginners, as well as experienced wrappers.
Its easy to make doble layers, and the passes glides easily into place.

I have sometimes experienced that smooth and slippery wraps makes the seat and second pass on the seat slip away while wrapping, but I didn't feel that at all with this wrap.
It is enough grip to make the seat and the second layer stay in place as it should, and easy to make the knee-passes lock the seat in the right way.
I think this would be a perfect wrap to practice wrapping with.
The knot is of medium size, and it can easily hold with only one knot.

Milk-protein fiber also has an antibacterial and antifungal effect, and will in that case be perfect for parents and babies with extra sensitive skin. Its 100% non-allergic, and suitable for all seasons. It was a very warm period when I received the wrap, and it was perfect for the hot weather. It did not feel warm at all, and we really enjoyed every bit of this wrap.

Right now this wrap is out there traveling trough Norway, and if you want to see more of this beauty, check out #HarmaSlingsInNorway on both Facebook and Instagram. Here you will see pictures and read about the experiences of the testers that´s hosting this wrap.

Thank you, Harma Slings, for letting us enjoy this beautiful wrap!

LunaLove Terzetto Orange

Brand: LunaLove
Collection: Terzetto
Name: Orange
Blend: 100% Cotton
Thickness: Thin to medium, 220 gsm.
Size: 6
Wrappee: 16 kg/ 2 year old

Sometimes you come across something new. Something pretty. Something unexplored. And you think- I need to try this!
That was the feeling when I first saw LunaLove wraps. I had to try them.

I was lucky, because LunaLove sent me 4 wraps for testing in Norway. I got to try them all before sending them out to the lucky testers, but Im going to focus on one of the wraps in this review; LunaLove Terzetto Orange.

All of the wraps I received from LunaLove was amazing soft right from the box. They arrived in loom state, but they felt like already broken in wraps. Still, when I had them washed and ironed, you could see the magic in pre and post-wash of wraps. They fluffed up like marshmallows.

Terzetto Orange is a wrap that is soft right out of the box, and so soft even after a wash and ironing. Its medium thin/thin in hand, and it had a wq of a bandage. It just hugs around you and your litte wrappee as the most comfortable wrap made.
The wrap is easy to wrap with, and holds a great amount of glide and stretch, and that makes it super easy to wrap with. This is the perfect wrap for beginners!

My little boy is already 16 kg´s, and a heavy little energic toddler. I would say that this wrap is a bit too thin for him in one layer, but so are most of the other wraps too now. He is heavy, and he needs a wrap specially made for heavy kids if I want to carry in one layer for a while.
Anyway, this wrap is great with him in two layers, and I don´t feel it digging on my shoulder at all. When holding the wrap in your hands, you will never think that this wrap will hold that much cush, but its something you just need to experience! It is really comfortable.

So, down to the details.
This wrap is smooth and soft. It holds a lot of glide, but not too much to make wrapping easy. Just out of habit I use to tie only one knot, and in one layer I think this wrap needs double knot, but in two layers there is no problem with using single knot. The knot is also of a perfect, small size. It will not bother you at all.
Orange has a great amount of diagonally stretch, and also some vertical stretch.
The colors is also great. I love how the colors pop out, and I love how bright and happy the color looks. I have not tried or seen a lot of orange wraps before, and I like how the color makes this wrap unique.

I would happily recommend this wrap for everyone. Its not any fancy blend or nubs and clubs, but they are all around great wraps! You get a lot of wrap for the price, they are affordable and they are easy care.
I think this wrap is perfect and soft for a little newborn squish, but also for those cuddly moments with your tired toddler.

I would not recommend this wrap for people that like heavy and grippy wraps, or as a shorty for people with toddlers of some weight.

If you are more curious about this wraps, you should check out LunaLove on Facebook, or #LunaLoveInNorway on Facebook and Instagram. Here you can see what the other testers think about the wraps they have tried.

Thank you LunaLove.

Vanamo Kide Lumo

Brand: Vanamo
Collection: Kide
Name: Lumo
Blend: 100% Cotton
Thickness: Medium Thick, 298gsm post wash.
Size: 6
Wrappee: 16 kg.

We have had Vanamo Kide Lumo travelling here in Norway for a while now, and its my time to try it out and write my review of this wrap.
If you are curious about other testers opinions, please check out #vanamokidetester on Instagram or Facebook.

What I first noticed about this lovely wrap was its colors. The blue is so clear and pretty, and I love how it pops out. The pattern is inspired by the traditional Finnish hand weaved textiles, and I was caught by it from the very first time I saw it.

First impression of the wrap was that it was soft right out of the box, but I could also feel that it would have potential to be even softer. The wrap felt smooth, and did not have a very textured surface. The wrap felt medium thick in hand, and it did not feel heavy at all.

I am not going to say more about how all cotton wraps always seems to surprise me, because I don´t expect them to be less than any other blends anymore. All cotton wraps are super! If you want a wrap that holds bounce, stretch, cush and even easy to wash- you can go for this all cotton Kide Lumo. Its everything above, and no fancy blend is needed.
Another great thing about this wrap is that you don´t need to empty your bank, and be scared to use it. Its affordable and I have not seen even one pull in it. My little one is actually allowed to eat ice-cream in this one, and I love how we can wrap him up and down whenever he likes to, without thinking about ruin the wrap.

Wearing qualities of this wrap...
Its a soft wrap. It came back from testing so much softer, and its so easy to wrap with because of this. Its like a second skin, and a bandage.
The wrap is smooth, and may be a bit slippery for some. I have seen it mentioned from some testers that they feel its too slippery, but for me I feel its just perfect. Its easy to tighten, its easy to try out new finishes and new carries, and Im just tying a double knot if I feel it will loosen and loose its place.
The wrap has some diagonally stretch, but no vertical or horizontal stretch. The diagonal stretch is something I prefer in wraps, because it makes them more comfortable on my shoulders, and easier to wrap with. It also helps to hold a little- but very energetic- toddler in place when he wants to jump and dance.
I can also say that this wrap holds my toddler in place, with no problem. Its study and does not sag, and its comfortable on my shoulder in double layer-carries.

This wrap is perfect for newbies, as well as experienced wrappers.
I think its also great for everything from squish to toddlers, as its both soft and strong at the same time.
To love this wrap you need to love a wrap that is easy to wrap with and that does not contain a lot of grip.

The colors are amazing, and I have been keeping a close eye on the other Vanamo´s out there too, and I just love almost every one I see of them. I love how they combine colors and make them modern and eye-catching.

I can really recommend this wrap, and I feel very happy that we got to test it.
Thank you so much, Liinalapsi

Wrapture Australia Riverbed Clay

Brand: Wrapture Australia
Collection: Riverbed
Name: Clay
Blend: 76% super mercerised cotton/ 18% spun viscose/ 6% linen
Thickness: 238 g/m2
Size: 6
Wrappee: 2 years and 16 kg.

Its already a while since Riverbed Clay arrived here with us. Its the first wrap from Wrapture Australia I have ever tried, and I'm so glad the wrap found its way to us here up north in Norway, all the way from Australia. Clay was love at first sight, and it amazed me a lot!

The first impression of Clay was the feeling of the texture of this wrap. Its really something unique. It feels like those bedsheets I had when I was younger, made of crepe textiles. I loved it so much, and the same with this wrap.

The colors of this wrap is also something unique. Its delicate and discreet, but still pops out and are very eye-catching. I love how the colors work together, and it sure makes me think of those wet riverbeds I think they see more of in Australia then I do here in my hometown. I still love the beach and the sea, and the wrap just make me happy just looking at it.
You could easily just think that this is a grey and white wrap once looking at it quick, but here the wrap also surprise you. Taking a closer look you can see all those beautiful earthly tones blending together. You have different shades of brown, different shades of grey, you also have some silver and light blue tones.

I normally like cushy and a bit heavy wraps, but the more I try thinner wraps, the more I seem to love it these days. It could be that I now manage to make better wrap jobs, or the fact that Norway now experience the summer again- after a long and cold winter, but whatever it is- this wrap arrived just in time.
The fact that it dried up in no time after washing, made me really happy, but also because we have had a long time with sickness and fever at home, and it has been such a pleasure to have a thin and cool wrap like this here at this time, that still holds my toddler with such an ease!
The wrapping qualities is so good, and I feel like its wrapping it self around me. Its so easy to work with, so forgiving, the chest pass is easy to tighten and the wrap gives an amazing amount of cush on my shoulders.
Im carrying a heavy toddler these days, and this wrap made perfect wrap jobs every time, and my shoulders loved it!

So, the wrap is thin in hand, and it feels cool and airy. The texture is not easy to explain, so you should absolutely try one yourself!
The wrap have some amount of stretch, but just the type of diagonally stretch that gives your little one just the perfect amount of bounce, and your shoulders the perfect amount of cush. I did not once feel it digging or sagging!
Clay does not have a lot of grip, and feels silky and smooth from the first touch.  It will still, because of the texture, have a great way of holding your passes in place and also stay in place wile carrying for longer periods of time.

I would recommend this wrap for all ages. This will definitely be a permanent wrap in our home, and I am already looking forward to wrap a squish in this wrap - whenever that may be.

To all of you that think you don´t like thinner wrap- You should definitely try one out! You will be blown away!
This wrap have all the things I love in a thick wrap, but just gives you the pleasure of not being heavy, beasty and warm- like thicker wraps often do.

So... Now I have only two last thing to say!
Wrapture Australia- Keep making those AMAZING wraps, and thank you a lot for sending one our way!

Clay will now travel trough Norway, so keep your eyes open, and check out #WraptureInNorway .

Dreamy Slings Mistery Swan Laguna

Review of Dreamy Slings- Mistery Swan Laguna

Brand: Dreamy Slings
Collection: Mistery Swan
Name: Laguna
Blend: 100% Combed Cotton
Thickness: 290 g/m2
Size: 6
Wrappee: 23 months and 15,5 kg.

Dreamy Slings is a newly started brand, and have this far had two releases. This wrap comes from the first release- Mistery Swan Laguna!

So far, I would say that Dreamy Slings is already known for their love of details. Everything from their fb-page, their logo, communicating with them and until receiving the product is a true pleasure. The opening of the box from them was like opening a well made birthday present.

The wrap arrived carefully wrapped, and even the package looks delicious. I enjoyed every step of unwrapping it!
The box is filled with not only the beautiful wrap inside a beautiful bag, but also with small gifts from Dreamy Slings, together with the documents of the wrap.
Dreamy Slings know how to make a good impression with their customers- and I really like that!

So, lets focus on the beautiful wrap!

The first thing I notice with this wrap was the colors! The colors really pops, and I love the way the color goes from light blue to black, with the pattern in white.  There is something really calming and delicate over the pattern, and I like the large pattern.

The next thing that really hit me was the incredible softness of this wrap. Its like a kitten belly to touch, and its very soft and moldable right out of the box. It arrives ready for use, and its already so soft it could easily been taken for being worn for days already.

The wrap is medium thick in hand, and is soft and smooth to touch. It holds a bit more glide then grip, and its very easy to work with. The second (and third) pass glides easily into place, without causing you too much work.
The wrap has just a small amount of horisonalt and vertical stretch, but its pretty stretchy diagonally. That is what gives the wrap just the perfect amount of stretch in the right places, and bounce enough to hold even my energetic toddler into place.
The plaids are comfortable and cushy on my shoulders, and this wrap does not dig what so ever. In single or multiple layer carries, its still comfy!

We have used this wrap in FWCC, FCC, DH (TIF, TAS, TUB), ruck and hip carry.
As always, we mostly enjoy multiple layer carries, but this wrap has no problem making even a ruck comfortable- as long as Im doing a proper tightening job!

This wrap is perfect for all ages. It´s so soft and smooth, that its perfect for the little newborn baby, and its also a big plus that it can be washed in machine if there should be any accidents. Its also strong and steady enough for bigger babies and toddlers.
Its the perfect wrap for new wrappers, as well as experienced wrappers.
I have not tried this wrap with other babies then my toddler, but I think the width is perfect. It measures 68 cm STIH, so I think its not too wide for a newborn, as well as I can have the wrap from shoulders to seat on my toddler with no problem.

I already love Dreamy Slings new pattern Wishspace, and their color Glow, and Im very curious to see what more Dreamy Slings will do in the future. I will keep my eyes open on this new and upcoming brand!

We really enjoyed testing this beautiful wrap, so thank you Dreamy Slings for letting me test and review it!
